Another round of dispersal in Hanjin Garments: "Outright management-PNP-LGU collusion!"

This is the statement of condemnation of more than 350 Hanjin Garments workers in another round of dispersal yesterday, January 26, on their third day of picket protest in front of the company in Barangay Banay-Banay, Cabuyao, Laguna.

Coming from within the company gates, more than 150 combined elements of Philippine National Police (PNP) Cabuyao, PNP Regional Mobile Group, CALABARZON Police, and Laguna Industrial Park Police Action Group (LIPPAG) dispersed and drove the workers away from Gatchalian Industrial Subdivision at 7PM.  read full article »

Hanjin workers brutally dispersed

Around 50 combined elements of Cabuyao Philippine National Police and Laguna Industrial Park Police Assistance Group (LIPPAG) dispersed the protest march of more than a hundred Hanjin workers and supporters from 5PM till 6PM, at Gatchalian Industrial Subdivision in Barangay Banay-Banay, Cabuyao, Laguna.

The dispersal took place after negotiations between representatives of Hanjin workers and management, in the presence of DOLE representative Med-Arbiter Estrella Rosal, collapsed.  read full article »

Food blockade imposed against Hanjin workers

More than 50 war-clad elements of Cabuyao Philippine National Police (PNP) and Laguna Industrial Park Police Assistance Group (LIPPAG) refused entry of food support to striking workers of Hanjin Garments Incorporated since last night, January 24.

Cabuyao PNP Chief Col. Moises Pagaduan and LIPPAG Maj. delos Santos ordered their respective police units to dispel workers and supporters carrying food from reaching the barricades at the company gates and Gatchalian industrial subdivision entrance.  read full article »

Garment workers in a Korean company stage strike

Contractual workers from Hanjin Garments Incorporated, a Korean-owned company in Cabuyao, Laguna, launched their strike at around 5:30 AM today, January 24, demanding reinstatement of illegally terminated workers, regularization, and union recognition.  read full article »

Makers of Mossimo terminated, prepare to strike

More than 200 contractual workers cried foul when forced to sign end contract by Hanjin Garments Incorporated, a Korean-owned exporting company in Cabuyao, Laguna. Hanjin produces and exports to United States blazers, cocktail dresses, and pants, including branded Mossimo teen pants and shorts.

The 200 workers received their respective notices for end of contract on January 14. Four days after, on January 18, they filed a notice of strike to the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB-Region IVA).  read full article »

Asosasyon sa mga Mamumuo sa Dolefil Alang sa Kalingkawasan ug Demokrasya sa Nasud –NAFLU-KMU today denounces the latest illegal dismissal of one of its Board of Directors by the Dolefil management. 

Peregrino Banguis, Board of Director for agriculture was terminated yesterday. The company has earlier dismissed Florentino Beghanilum and Edmundo Velonero, the union’s vice-president for organization and treasurer respectively.  Last year, Oscar Serohijos, the  union’s secretary was also dismissed from work.  read full article »
