Solidarity message from AWC-Japan

Dear Com. Crispin Beltran,

As we are faced with one year anniversary of the baseless arrest and illegal detention of Ka. Bel, we would like to express our continuous solidarity and support to Ka. Bel and Filipino people who are fighting against grave human rights violation. Here in Japan we are visiting the Philippine Embassy/Consulate to demand the Philippine government immediate release of Ka. Bel and stop of political killings.

We pay respect to Ka. Bel and Filipino people for the determination to resist the harsh oppression and to continue work in the service of the people. Your struggle is also comradely solidarity and inspiration for us and people of the world over who are wrestling with imperialist globalization and world –wide `war on terrorism.

Now people here gradually became aware of the grave human rights situation in the Philippines including massive political killings and politically motivated custody of Ka. Bel. They also became conscious that Arroyo government is fully responsible for the extra-judicial killings which are executed following their anti-insurgency policy, with its armed device of military and police as culprit. Recently, even Japanese government, who was long indifferent to human rights situation is obliged to express concern about the abuse of the Philippine government.

On our part, we have to point not only at Arroyo government but at the U.S., Japan and other imperialist countries who are in the backdrop of the human rights abuse and in support of Arroyo regime to protect their concession in the Philippines. Hence, we are really convinced that we can promote our joint action to get Ka. Bel back to people and end political killings, as well as stop new-liberalism globalization and war on terrorism throughout the world. In particular, we are eager to advance joint campaign to counter increasing Japanese militarization and U.S. military presence in Asia Pacific.

Onward to people's victory !
