Solidarity Message from All Pakistan Trade Union Federation

Dear Comrades,

Revolutionary greetings from All Pakistan Trade Union Federation!

On the occasion of international labor day we salute and express our solidarity to comrades and fellow workers, struggling hard to liberate the working class from the shackles of capitalism and imperialism and also resisting against oppression, wars of aggression, the US occupation of Iraq, Afghanistan and neo-liberal globalization.
We are celebrating this May Day in this crucial time when the multinationals, monopolies and Imperialists are oppressing the workers’ rights more and more. Labour rights are being depressed; political and democratic rights are eliminated. The Capital conducts wars to serve its interests, kills innocent people with no discrimination. The struggles of the peoples and trade unions are facing attacks of Governmental violence.

That is why the Workers Movement must be united to deal with this situation. It must be class oriented and independent. It must be able to coordinate the peoples’ struggle against exploitation, against suppression. We reiterate that we remain committed to the movement and its struggle for national and class liberation.

To pay tribute to Chicago Martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for workers rights, and to extend the solidarity with workers movement around the world, All Pakistan Trade Union Federation and its hundred thousand members will celebrate May Day with great enthusiasm. On Day May 1st, 2007, All Pakistan Trade Union Federation holding rallies in big cities of Pakistan, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore.

Rally in Lahore in which workers (women & male), peasants, children’s from different areas will participate. Rally starts at 9:00 A.M from Lahore Press Club and end at GPO, Mall Road.
