The president that was never meant to be…

The Kilusang Mayo Uno-Cordillera in behalf of the workers of the region denounces another anti-worker stand of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and her cohorts in Malacañang on the P125 legislated wage hike which was approved on its second reading in the house of congress.

Arroyo is too much to be of an anti-worker and anti-poor. She does not care at all about the welfare and democratic rights the workers are fighting for. The P125 wage increase Across the Board Nationwide was been cried for by the impoverished workers more than half a decade already. She seems not to understand at all why the workers demand for such additional amounts to their pegged incomes.

Anyway, it is no wonder why Arroyo does not support and was really never meant to be the long time wage hike demand of the Filipino workers. Doing such will cause her “confidence” from her capitalist allies and will lessen her chances in clinging to her stolen presidency. She can never be trusted in her words “pushing” for any wage increases.

KMU-Cordillera is calling to congressmen supporting the P125 wage hike to be honorable enough not to be dictated by the Arroyo bunch of hooligans in Malacañang and hold on their intelligent resolution on the wage bill.

Workers not only here in the Cordillera should strengthen their ranks in rallying the approval of the P125 wage hike. We should unite in guarding the advancement of our legitimate demands for democratic rights and welfare. After all, the thriumph of such struggles lies on our hands.

As to Arroyo, this president really needs to be removed from the presidency. From the time she seated in the palace for the first time and retained her presidency from massive electoral fraud, a 500-page logbook is not even enough to write her sins against the people especially the workers. Every second she stays, the toiling Filipino masses suffer much.
