Kilusang Mayo Uno and Anakpawis Partylist greeted Nacionalista Party guest candidate Satur Ocampo on his 71st birthday and vowed to fully support his senatorial bid.
“We wish him good health and more fruitful years of serving the people. May he live longer to pursue his commitment to bring the poor people’s demands to the Upper House. We still need him to represent workers and farmers in the Senate.”
KMU Secretary General Roger Soluta said Filipino workers look up to and admire Ka Satur the same way that poor people love and honor the late Anakpawis Rep. Crispin ‘Ka Bel’ Beltran.
“We ask Ka Satur to bring Ka Bel’s fight to the Senate – the fight for higher wages, employment, better working and living conditions for workers and marginalized sectors.”
If Ka Satur gets elected in the Senate, we will be assured that he will promote and advocate the passage of pro-worker legislations that will benefit workers. In the Lower House, Ka Satur was among those who determinedly pushed for the P125 legislated wage increase, which is still pending since the 13th Congress and has been continuously blocked by the administration.
Soluta said KMU and its entire membership of 100,000 workers and their families will surely vote for Satur Ocampo and fellow Makabayan senatorial candidate Liza Maza. “KMU chapters and member unions are working twice as hard to campaign for Ocampo, Maza and Anakpawis Partylist." #
