Re: Recognize the union and observe labor rights
On behalf of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, I am writing to express our support for the struggle of workers in Fresh Banana Agricultural Corp. Packing Plant 95 in Compostela Valley, Philippines to gain reinstatement with full benefits and recognition of the union.
According to the information from my sister organization, the Nagkahiusang Mamumuo sa San Jose (NAMASAN) – National Federation of Labor Unions – Kilusang Mayo Uno (United Workers of San Jose – National Federation of Labor Unions – May 1st Movement), the trade union is demanding the following points.
* Reinstate the workers with full benefits as regulars, maintaining their length of service.
* That FBAC own up to its legal responsibility as the real employers in PP 95.
* Cease from its practice of Labor Flexibilization and Dummy System.
* Recognize the union and observe labor rights.
We, KCTU, strongly urge you to give immediate and constructive answers to all the points which the trade union is raising.
Sincerely Yours,
(sgd)
Jo Jun-Ho
President
