Protests to continue next year, if Malacañang and his cohorts will not abandon Cha-Cha

THE militant Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) today challenged Speaker Jose De Venecia to resign his post as the head of the House of Representatives and put in writing his intention against becoming Prime Minister if their bid for Charter Change succeeded.

" Jose De Venecia as delicadeza dictates must quit the speakership of the Congress because of their major blunder on con-ass. If he is truly sincere in his call for unity, he and his lackeys must also once and for all abandon their plans and evil schemes for Charter Change. They must give our country a break, " said Joel Maglunsod, SecretaryGeneral of KMU.

The labor leader also stressed that the nationwide protest actions that started today will continue next year and until Malacañang abandon all their ambitions and selfish agenda through Cha-Cha.

" People's initiative, con-ass and constitutional convention will all be thrashed by the people who are vigilant enough against their machinations and maneuverings to prolong their stay in power. Actually, they were knockdowned twice after their defeat on people's initiative and constituent assembly, they should not wait for another one or a knockout by the Filipino people will surely come their way," Maglunsod explained.

Maglunsod also called the Filipino workers nationwide to stage all forms of protests today and during the big mobilization and prayer rally on Dec 17 led by church people, people's organizations and legal oppositionist groups.

" We will patiently discuss to our people that it is not only JDV and other opportunist congressmen and local leaders who create this seemingly endless crisis of governance. It is Mrs. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo's fake, fascist and puppet regime that must end for the sake of the Filipino people. Gloria must be ousted immediately or we will have tragedy after tragedy," Maglunsod stressed.
