After the extra-judicial killing of another activist and the arrest of a suspected rebel leader, workers led by national labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno joined a picket in front of the Department of Justice this morning to condemn the intensifying repression under the government of Pres. Noynoy Aquino.
National labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno condemned today a case of robbery in the office of one of its federations, saying the incident is part of the Aquino government’s surveillance and harassment operations against government critics.
With the enactment of a law banning the military from making “orders of battle” or hitlists, labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno dared Interior and Local Government Sec. Mar Roxas to bare the names of 235 alleged communist leaders the bounty on whose heads he jacked up last November.
For the third time, the “multiple murder” and “multiple frustrated murder” charges against 72 workers and activists in the Southern Tagalog region, who are also known as the ST 72, were dismissed by the Regional State Prosecutor’s Office in San Pablo City, Laguna in a resolution received by the respondents last week.
