Napakataas na ng presyo ng langis. Simula Enero, tumaas na ito nang halos P8.00. Mula nang umupo si Noynoy Aquino, tumaas na ito nang mahigit P10.00. Itinutulak ng pagtaas ng presyo ng langis ang pagtataasan din ng presyo ng bigas at ibang bilihin.

Labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno slammed the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office for implementing new policies limiting health and medical assistance to poor beneficiaries, saying the Aquino government is narrowing an option for poor people in need of such assistance.
“The P2.00 rollback in the per liter prices of oil products being proposed by the Department of Energy is too little. The fact that the Aquino government is proposing such a minimal reduction is proof that it is conniving with the Big 3 oil cartel in implementing an overpricing in petroleum products.”

Amidst news that inflation rose to 4.6 percent from a year ealier in July, following a 26-month high last June, labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno called on the Aquino government to stop the local overpricing of oil to ease inflation, saying the move will give immediate relief to workers and poor people.
Two days before the third anniversary of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program Extension with Reforms, labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno said the program is a clear failure, as shown by the plight of farmers and farmworkers in Hacienda Luisita.
“It is SM which caused an increase in Henry Sy’s already immense profit: Siil at Murang paggawa (repressed and cheap labor).”
“The QC government is just exploiting the floods and threat of flooding to sugarcoat the demolition of urban poor communities with a so-called relocation plan for the safety of settlers.”
This was the statement of labor center Kilusang Mayo Uno in response to Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista’s order last July 28 for the immediate relocation of settlers in flood prone-areas in the city.
